"Mrs. Davis": A Mind-Bending and Surprisingly Profound AI Thrill Ride

"Mrs. Davis," a new show co-created by Damon Lindelof, follows Sister Simone (Betty Gilpin) on a quest to find and destroy the Holy Grail, assigned to her by an AI named Mrs. Davis. The show combines absurd, surreal set-pieces with a recognizable symbol to anchor the alternate reality. Gilpin's performance grounds the show, which takes a stand against a soulless, generic world that a total AI takeover would produce. The series puts spectacle over practicality, but its messiness is forgivable and even part of the plan. "Mrs. Davis" will launch with four episodes on Thursday, April 20, with new episodes dropping weekly on Thursdays.
