Disney star Bridgit Mendler has launched a satellite startup called Northwood Space, aiming to create a "data highway between Earth and space" by mass producing ground stations that connect terrestrial servers with satellite networks. The company, which already has $6 million in funding, is led by Mendler as CEO, her husband as chief technology officer, and Shaurya Luthra as head of software. The idea for the startup began as a lockdown hobby, and Mendler envisions simplifying the process of sending data to and from space.
