Roman Reigns defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39 to retain the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, extending his historic near-950-day run as world champion. Despite interference from The Usos and help from Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens, Reigns secured the victory with the help of Solo Sikoa's interference. Rhodes had returned to WWE a year ago and won the men's Royal Rumble match to secure his place in the WrestleMania main event, but Reigns proved to be too much for him.
