Mars Williams, renowned saxophonist known for his work with The Psychedelic Furs and The Waitresses, has passed away at the age of 68 after a year-long battle with ampullary cancer. Williams was diagnosed with the rare form of cancer in December 2022 and had been undergoing treatment. Despite his illness, he continued to perform with The Psychedelic Furs until recently. Williams' family and friends plan to hold a celebration of life for the musician, who was hailed as a hero by many.
