Metallica Musician's Terrifying Encounter with Manson Family Revealed

Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo recounted his experience as a young boy during a shootout involving the Manson family in 1971. Trujillo described hiding with his family in their home while gunshots rang out and police helicopters circled overhead. The incident occurred after the Manson family attempted to rob a gun store with plans to hijack a plane. Trujillo's grandparents' carport was used as a hiding spot by one of the Manson family members, who was eventually surrounded by police. Trujillo also mentioned that growing up in the Venice Beach area, cult activity was not uncommon. Metallica is currently on their M72 World Tour.
