Manchester Orchestra Mourns Loss of Tim Very, Longtime Drummer

Timothy Very, the longtime drummer for Manchester Orchestra, has died; the band confirmed the news on Feb. 14, with no cause of death disclosed. Very joined the group in 2010 after Jeremiah Edmond’s departure and appeared on multiple albums, with his first live performance in 2011 in London. In a heartfelt Instagram tribute, the band called him a beloved, positivity-filled presence and described him as a “songwriter’s drummer” who greatly contributed to the band’s sound. Very grew up in Pensacola, began drumming as a teen, and cited Dave Grohl as a major influence.
