Instagram Viral Video Elevates Chris Cron to Beach Boys Membership

Chris Cron, a Nashville-based vocalist from the Beach Boys tribute group Pet Sounds Live, rose from a viral Instagram video in 2023 to joining the actual Beach Boys touring lineup. After subbing in for Christian Love and building connections through Brian Eichenberger and others, Cron was named Bruce Johnston’s successor when Johnston retired at the end of 2025, taking on Bruce’s parts on the road while continuing his work with Pet Sounds Live.
