Diddy Admits to Paying Sting $5,000 Per Day for Uncleared Sample.

Diddy confirmed on Twitter that he pays Sting $5,000 per day in royalties for sampling his 1983 single "Every Breath You Take" on his 1997 hit "I'll Be Missing You." Sting previously stated in a 2018 interview that he received $2,000 a day from Diddy. Despite the uncleared sample, there are no hard feelings between the two musicians, with Sting noting in a 2003 interview that he put his kids through college with the proceeds and that he and Diddy are still good friends.
