Seymour Stein, Iconic Record Executive Who Signed Madonna and More, Passes Away at 80

Seymour Stein, the music executive who signed Madonna, the Ramones, Talking Heads, and the Pretenders to his label Sire and helped found the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, has died at the age of 80. Stein was known for his encyclopedic knowledge of pop music and his ability to turn great music into hit records. He was also a collector of art and antiques. Stein's daughter Mandy confirmed that he died at his home in Los Angeles on Sunday due to cancer.
