"Time Shelter" by Gospodinov and Rodel wins International Booker Prize

Georgi Gospodinov and translator Angela Rodel have won the 2023 International Booker Prize for Time Shelter, a novel that imagines a "clinic of the past" where Alzheimer's patients can visit different time periods of their lives. The novel explores the weaponization of nostalgia and is the first Bulgarian novel to win the prize. Gospodinov and Rodel will share the prize money of roughly $62,000 equally.
