Katy Perry Emerges Victorious in Montecito Mansion Legal Battle

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have scored a tentative win in their legal battle to purchase a Montecito mansion from Texas millionaire Carl Westcott. A judge ruled that there was insufficient evidence to prove that Westcott lacked capacity when he signed the contract with Perry's business manager. The ruling is expected to become permanent in 10 days. Perry is expected to testify at the damage trial phase scheduled for February. Westcott's lawyer argued that his client was suffering from various medical conditions when he agreed to sell the property, but the judge found the evidence inconsistent and concluded that Westcott breached the contract for no reason other than changing his mind.
