Universal Bets on Bon Jovi Biopic Tracing Jersey Roots to Rock Glory

Universal Pictures is developing a definitive Bon Jovi biopic with Jon Bon Jovi's participation and access to the band's music catalog. Cody Brotter will write the script, with producers Kevin J. Walsh and Gotham Chopra (Religion of Sports) attached; Chopra previously guided a Bon Jovi documentary. The film will focus on the band’s formative New Jersey years and the ascent to stadium-rock fame, including the era around Slippery When Wet and the lineup’s early challenges.
