"Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" Battles for Box Office Success Against "Spidey"

Paramount's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is aiming for a $155 million worldwide box office opening, with $100 million expected offshore. The movie, directed by Steven Caple Jr., introduces robotic animals from the Hasbro franchise and is tracking strong with Hispanic, Latino, and Black audiences. It will compete against Sony Animation's Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse for the top spot at the box office. While its start is down from early tracking projections, it is expected to surpass the opening weekend takes of Bumblebee and Transformers: The Last Knight. The movie is releasing in 68 overseas markets, with China expected to contribute $50 million to its offshore number.
