Hanks & Heller Face Bidding War for The Comebacker Baseball Drama

Deadline reports three studios are bidding to finance and distribute The Comebacker, a baseball-themed drama reuniting Tom Hanks with director Marielle Heller. Based on a Dave Eggers short story, the script is by Heller and produced by Gary Goetzman (Playtone) and Leah Holzer (Defiant By Nature); production is set for October, with Sony and Focus among the bidders and a third distributor in the mix.
