Daisy Ridley Returns as Rey in Upcoming 'Star Wars' Movie.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy announced that the first "Star Wars" feature film since 2019's "The Rise of Skywalker" will focus on Daisy Ridley's Rey as she builds a new Jedi Order. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct from a script by Steven Knight. Obaid-Chinoy is the first woman and person of color to direct a "Star Wars" movie. The project marks several major milestones for the franchise. The film follows the events of "Rise of Skywalker."
