European Film Awards Celebrate Excellence and Challenges in Art House Cinema

Justine Triet's courtroom drama "Anatomy of a Fall" won Best Film and Best Director at the 36th European Film Awards. The French film, which previously won the Palme d'Or at Cannes, also received awards for Best Screenwriter, Best Actress for Sandra Hüller, and Best Editing. Mads Mikkelsen won Best Actor for "The Promised Land," and Molly Manning Walker's "How to Have Sex" won the European Discovery award. Other winners included Anna Hints for Best Documentary and Isabel Coixet for European Achievement in World Cinema.
