Kate Middleton paid tribute to Princess Diana and Audrey Hepburn's Eliza Doolittle character by wearing a bespoke white Alessandra Rich dress with brown polka dots, two-tone pumps from the same brand, and a black Philip Treacy hat with polka dot detailing to the Garter Day service. She also wore her late mother-in-law Princess Diana's pearl earrings. Middleton's outfit was reminiscent of Princess Diana's polka dot Victor Edelstien dress worn to Royal Ascot in 1988. Middleton also wore a custom emerald green Andrew Gn coat dress with a satin trim to Trooping the Colour, which resembled one that Diana wore in 1988.
