Kate Middleton honored Princess Diana at King Charles III's Trooping the Colour by wearing diamond drop earrings that belonged to her late mother-in-law and a shamrock brooch as a nod to her new colonelcy of the Irish Guards. She rode in a royal carriage with her three children and Queen Consort Camilla. King Charles III participated in the parade as sovereign on horseback, marking the first time a reigning monarch had ridden in the parade since Queen Elizabeth II in 1986. The event boasted over 1,400 parading soldiers, 200 horses, and 400 musicians for the royal tradition.
