Taraji P. Henson to Guest Star in 'Abbott Elementary'

Taraji P. Henson will guest star as Vanetta, Janine's mother, in the April 12 episode of ABC's comedy series "Abbott Elementary." The episode, titled "Mom," will feature Janine's plans for a solo trip being derailed when her mother shows up unannounced and asks for help. Henson is the latest guest star to appear as part of Janine's family, as the show continues to explore its characters' backgrounds. Henson is known for her role as Cookie Lyon in "Empire" and has also appeared in several films and animated movies.
