'Sesame Street' introduces first Filipino American Muppet, TJ.

Sesame Street has introduced its first Filipino American Muppet, 4-year-old TJ, who made his debut alongside actor Kal Penn and fellow Muppets Grover and Ji-Young. TJ's character is a second-generation Filipino-American boy with a baby sister and grandparents who help him learn Tagalog. Chinese actor Yinan Shentu plays TJ and has spoken about his imposter syndrome, while social media users have praised the representation of Asian people on the show.
