Mexican TV icon 'Chabelo' passes away at 88

Mexican children's entertainer Xavier López, better known as Chabelo, has died at the age of 88. López was best known for his Sunday variety show En Familia con Chabelo, which ran for 48 years. He usually performed dressed as a child and helped found a genre that became a staple for decades on Mexican television. López died suddenly of abdominal complications and is survived by his wife and several children.
