Lea Michele's 2023 Tonys Performance and Nomination Controversy

Lea Michele performed "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Funny Girl at the 2023 Tony Awards, marking the second time she has performed the song on the Tonys stage. Michele currently stars in the hit musical as Fanny Brice, a role she took over from Beanie Feldstein in 2022. Michele's performance was a nod to her Glee character, Rachel Berry, who also played Fanny Brice in the show's fictitious Broadway revival.
