Jeremy Irons and Sam Claflin team up for Mediawan's 'The Count of Monte Cristo' series

Oscar winner Jeremy Irons has joined the cast of Bille August's prestige limited series "The Count of Monte Cristo," alongside Sam Claflin. The English-language series, based on Alexandre Dumas' classic novel, is being produced by Palomar in collaboration with DEMD Productions. Irons will portray the character of Abbé Faria, who befriends the protagonist Edmond Dantès, played by Claflin. The series, which has been in the works for several years, aims to bring a modern edge while remaining faithful to Dumas' work.
