Franchise Fatigue Evident in Year's Worst Sci-Fi Reboot.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, the latest installment in the Transformers franchise, fails to live up to expectations and proves that franchise fatigue has set in. Directed by Steven Caple Jr., the film lacks the maximalist flair of Michael Bay's previous entries and the tenderness of 2018's Bumblebee. Despite a charismatic performance by Anthony Ramos and an all-star voice cast, the film's surface-level depiction of New York's Afro-Latino communities and lackluster energy make it one of the lesser entries in the franchise.
