Disney's iconic ride, Splash Mountain, officially closed on May 31 to make way for the re-themed Tiana's Bayou Adventure, based on the 2009 film "The Princess and the Frog." The ride will feature the voices of Anika Noni Rose, Jenifer Lewis, and Michael-Leon Wooley, and is set to reopen in late 2024 at Disneyland Park and Magic Kingdom Park. Splash Mountain, which first opened in 1989, featured characters from the controversial 1946 film "Song of the South" and has long been criticized for its racist and offensive depiction of Black people.
