Dwayne Johnson to Star in Live-Action 'Moana' Remake at Disney

Dwayne Johnson announced during the Disney 2023 Annual Meeting of Shareholders Webcast that a live-action remake of "Moana" is in the works. Johnson, who voiced the character Maui in the original animated film, expressed his excitement to partner with Disney to tell the story through music and dance, which he believes is at the core of Polynesian culture. The project is still in the early stages, but Johnson confirmed that Maui and Heihei the chicken will be returning to the big screen.
