Denzel Washington Joins Ridley Scott's Gladiator Sequel Cast.

Denzel Washington is in final negotiations to co-star in the upcoming Gladiator sequel directed by Ridley Scott. The role he will play is being kept secret, but sources say he was excited about the "bad-ass" character Scott had written for him. The film will not feature Russell Crowe's Maximus, but Paul Mescal will play Lucius, the boy Maximus saved in the original film. Costume designer Janty Yates and production designer Arthur Max, who worked on the original film, are also on board.
