Celebrities React to Maui Wildfires: Destruction, Controversy, and Healing

Former Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony captured video footage of Lahaina, Maui just hours before it was devastated by wildfires. Anthony and his wife were vacationing nearby when they witnessed the violent winds that spread the fires across the western part of the island. The eerie video shows the town's businesses and residences still standing as palm trees sway in the high winds. Anthony's former bandmate Sammy Hagar expressed relief that Anthony made it out safely and pledged support for the local community. The Maui wildfires have become the deadliest US wildfire in the past century, with a reported death toll of 96.
