"Belgian University Offers Taylor Swift-inspired Literature Course: Analyzing Lyrics and Hazy Literature"

Ghent University in Belgium is launching a literature course called "Literature: Taylor's Version" that analyzes the literary merit of Taylor Swift's discography. The course, curated by assistant professor Elly McCausland, will explore Swift's work in relation to canonical literary texts and topics such as literary feminism and ecocriticism. The course is open to all, regardless of their familiarity with Swift's music, and will include assignments such as reflection reports and essays. While this is believed to be the first course of its kind in Europe, several colleges in the United States already offer classes on Swift's lyrics.
