Barbie's new Anna May Wong doll celebrates Hollywood icon.

Barbie has released a doll honoring Anna May Wong, the first Asian American lead actor in a U.S. television show, for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Wong's niece, Anna Wong, worked with Barbie to develop the doll, which she says honors her aunt's legacy of fighting against racism and stereotypical roles for Asians in Hollywood. The release of the doll comes after Wong was honored with a U.S. quarter for the American Women Quarters program and as Asian and Asian American actors make historic wins in Hollywood.
