Grammy Winner's Fatal Shooting: Investigation Reveals Armed Officer Held Hostage

Newly released investigative files reveal that an armed Tennessee Bureau of Investigation officer was present in the home of Grammy-winning sound engineer Mark Capps when he began threatening his family with guns. The officer, who was the boyfriend of Capps' stepdaughter, attempted to de-escalate the situation and eventually left the house. Capps, who was depressed and suicidal, had reached out to several people prior to the incident. Despite efforts to calm him down, police later shot and killed Capps when he pointed a gun at them during an arrest attempt. The investigation did not address why a SWAT team was used in the operation.
