Ex-boyfriend of Hollywood marriage and sex therapist sentenced to life for her murder

Gareth Pursehouse, the ex-boyfriend of a well-known marriage and sex therapist, has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the murder of Amie Harwick. Pursehouse broke into Harwick's home, waited for hours, attacked her, and threw her off the third-floor balcony. Prosecutors argued that Pursehouse had a history of obsession and had become angry and rejected after Harwick ended their relationship. Harwick had obtained a restraining order against Pursehouse in 2012. Pursehouse's defense claimed that he lost control of his emotions and impulsively broke into Harwick's home to talk with her. The autopsy revealed that Harwick died from blunt force injuries and manual strangulation.
