Arrest Made in Murder of NYC Art Dealer Stabbed in Brazil

A suspect has been arrested in the killing of American art dealer Brent Sikkema, who was found stabbed 18 times in his Rio de Janeiro apartment. The suspect, identified as Alejandro Triana Trevez, was apprehended near Uberaba, Brazil, and is believed to have stolen $3,000 from Sikkema's home. Police suspect that Trevez traveled from Sao Paulo specifically to commit the crime and then returned there, indicating possible prior knowledge. Sikkema was the co-owner of the prominent Sikkema Jenkins & Co. gallery in Manhattan, known for showcasing works by various artists.
