Arrest Made in Movie Theater Seat Assault Months Later

A 27-year-old man, Jesse Montez Thorton II, was arrested months after attacking a 63-year-old man over movie theater seats in Pompano Beach, Florida. The victim and his wife had purchased VIP tickets with assigned seating, but found an unknown couple occupying their seats. When the victim politely asked Thorton to move, he became hostile and attacked the victim, repeatedly punching him in the face. Thorton and the woman left before deputies arrived, but detectives identified him as the suspect and he was taken into custody with assistance from Fort Lauderdale police. Thorton faces one count of aggravated battery with great bodily harm.
