Ukrainian orphan Natalia Grace, previously accused by her adoptive parents, Michael and Kristine Barnett, of being an adult posing as a child and attempting to harm them, has been vindicated by DNA test results. The tests confirmed she was indeed a child, under 10 years old, at the time of her adoption, contradicting the Barnetts' claims that she was a homicidal adult in her 20s. The Barnetts had legally changed her age from 8 to 22 and abandoned her, leading to legal charges against them. Michael Barnett was acquitted in 2022, and Kristine Barnett's charges were dismissed in March 2023.
