Tyler Perry Slams "Disrespectful" Bidding Process for BET

Tyler Perry expressed disappointment with the way Paramount Global handled the bidding process for the potential majority stake sale of its BET business. Perry, along with other moguls, had expressed interest in acquiring the stake but felt disrespected by the process. He stated that he would not reconsider if BET was put up for sale again. Despite this, Perry still maintains a minority stake in the BET+ streaming service and continues to work with Paramount. The potential sale would have given Paramount more cash to focus on its main streaming service, Paramount+.
