Record-breaking Blue Diamond Sells for $44 Million at Christie's Auction

The largest fancy vivid blue diamond ever to be auctioned, known as the "Bleu Royal," has sold for over $44 million at Christie's auction in Geneva, surpassing the pre-sale estimate of $35 million. The 17.61-carat pear-shaped diamond became the most expensive jewel sold at auction this year and will be transferred to a private collection after 40 years.
