Marvel VFX Workers Make Historic Decision to Unionize

The visual effects employees at Marvel Studios have unanimously voted to unionize with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE), marking the first time a unit of solely VFX workers has unionized with IATSE. The next step is for the union to engage in collective bargaining negotiations with the studio to draft a union contract. The goal is to form a new national VFX Local under the Basic Agreement contract used by entertainment workers in various locals. This move comes after concerns were raised about working conditions and benefits in the VFX industry.
