Disney Expands Residential Communities Beyond Florida, Unveils New Location in North Carolina

Disney is expanding its residential community offerings beyond Florida, with plans for new housing developments in Rancho Mirage, California, and Pittsboro, North Carolina. The North Carolina community, called Asteria, will span 1,500 acres and feature over 4,000 single-family and multifamily homes, with amenities such as a wellness center, restaurant, sports courts, swimming pools, and more. Sales for Asteria homes are expected to begin by 2027. Another community called Cotino, also developed by Disney, is set to start home sales in early 2024, with prices ranging from the upper $1 million to lower $2 million range.
