"Burger King Cook's 27-Year Dedication Rewarded with $400K in Donations"

A Burger King worker, Kevin Ford, who went viral last year after receiving a paltry goody bag to celebrate his 27-year tenure, has been given $400,000 in crowdfunding donations. The video showed Ford receiving a movie ticket, a Starbucks cup, candy, pens, and keychains, which he said looked like things the company "had lying around." His daughter created a GoFundMe page, and the donations allowed Ford to visit his grandchildren in Texas. Burger King and HMSHost, the hiring company, have not commented on whether Ford received additional rewards. Burger King stated that the video showed a "peer-to-peer reward" and that they have a robust employee recognition program.
