Blockbuster's Possible Comeback Sparks Fan Speculation

The Blockbuster website is active with a message saying "We are working on rewinding your movie," leading fans to speculate about a possible comeback. The company ceased most of its operations in 2014, but a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) called Rewind was created in 2021 with the goal of acquiring Blockbuster from DISH. The DAO had 13 meetings with DISH about the acquisition, but it was shut down. The last remaining Blockbuster location in Bend, Oregon, is now an attraction that sells merchandise rather than renting movies.
