"Al Roker Faces Lawsuit for DEI Policy Failures"

Former executive producer Bill Schultz is suing Al Roker and his production company for allegedly firing him after he objected to the company's failure to follow a diversity initiative mandated by PBS for an animated kids TV series. Schultz claims that the company attempted to circumvent the diversity, equity, and inclusion program by having Black writers touch up scripts written by white scribes to give the appearance of a diverse writers room. The lawsuit alleges violations of New York's human rights law, breach of contract, and negligence, among other claims. Al Roker and his production company have not yet responded to requests for comment.
