Sir Michael Caine, 90, breaks new ground with debut thriller novel.

Michael Caine, the 90-year-old British actor, has completed his first novel, Deadly Game, during lockdown. The book is a thriller about a London DCI on the trail of a stash of uranium, and while it may not win any literary awards, Caine's publishers describe it as "a cracking thriller with a real voice and a super twist". Caine joins a long line of actors turned novelists, including Ethan Hawke, Marlon Brando, Carrie Fisher, Gene Hackman, and Steve Martin. Despite the potential quality of the book, Caine's accomplishment in finishing it is a happy ending of sorts for the actor who has retired from acting and is now focusing on his love of books and writing.
