Record-Breaking Sale: Picasso's 'Woman With A Watch' Fetches $139 Million

Pablo Picasso's painting "Woman with a Watch" was sold at a Sotheby's auction in New York for $139.3 million, making it the second-highest price ever achieved for the artist. The 1932 masterpiece depicts Picasso's muse, Marie-Therese Walter, and was part of a special sale of the collection of Emily Fisher Landau. Sotheby's aims to generate around $400 million in sales from Landau's collection, which includes works by other renowned artists such as Jasper Johns, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, and Andy Warhol.
