Françoise Gilot, Artist and Former Lover of Picasso, Dies at 101

Francoise Gilot, an accomplished painter and writer, has died at the age of 101. Gilot was known for her tumultuous relationship with Pablo Picasso, which she detailed in her best-selling memoir "Life with Picasso". Despite pressure from Picasso, Gilot continued to exhibit her works and became an acclaimed artist in her own right. She ultimately moved to the US, where she married twice and became chairwoman of the fine arts department at the University of Southern California. Gilot's death has been mourned by the art world.
