Maryland Zoo devastated by unexpected death of giraffe, Willow.

The Maryland Zoo is mourning the unexpected loss of Willow, a 6-year-old giraffe born at the zoo in 2017. Willow began showing a decrease in appetite on Friday and her health suddenly deteriorated on Monday. The zoo is conducting an investigation to determine the cause of her death. Willow's subspecies, reticulated giraffe, are one of four that are suffering population decline.
