Multiple Road Closures and Detours Expected in Pennsylvania and New York.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission announced that a more than 100-mile detour will be in place for westbound drivers from the Breezewood interchange to the New Stanton interchange from 11 p.m. Saturday, June 24, through 6 a.m. June 25, 2023, due to necessary road work to implement an interim traffic crossover as part of a total reconstruction project between mile markers 102-109 in Somerset County. The closure is expected to cause higher than normal traffic volumes on the detour route, and drivers are advised to avoid traveling the Turnpike overnight on the said dates.
