MBTA's 2024 Shutdown Schedule Aims to Eliminate Slow Zones for Long-Term Gains

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) has announced a series of brief shutdowns on different portions of the subway system to address necessary repairs and eliminate speed restrictions. The plan, which will impact all four subway lines, aims to eliminate speed restrictions by the end of 2024. The first scheduled shutdowns will occur on the Green Line, with additional closures planned through 2024.
