Kennedy Expressway Construction Causes Traffic Delays and Lane Closures.

The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that a supplemental lane closure will be added to the Kennedy Expressway's $150m overhaul, causing major traffic delays for Chicago drivers. The inbound reversible express lanes exit at Diversey Avenue will be closed for approximately eight weeks to accommodate bridge work at Diversey Avenue. The entire project will take over approximately seven miles of the Kennedy Expressway, from the Edens Expressway Junction to the Ohio Street exit, and is expected to be completed in late fall 2025.
