A Delta flight from New York City to Los Angeles was diverted to Salt Lake City due to a maintenance issue. While on the ground, the emergency slide of the same aircraft was accidentally deployed. The 168 passengers were re-accommodated on a new aircraft and safely reached their destination. No emergency landing was declared, and one crew member was taken to the hospital for evaluation but has since been discharged.
